https://cafedelites.com/swedish-meatballs-recipe/ calls for serving swedish meatballs on "stewed macaroni" and... is that really a thing? unseasoned boiled noodles with no sauce?
Metric is anti worker, working class folks love units where the largest unit is a mile and it can be subdivided into 1760ths, then 3rds, then twelfths, then halved until you reach suitable accuracy or have halved it 6 times, then you should go back to before the halvening and split it into thousandths
the smugglers in https://etc.worldhistory.org/exhibitions/giglamesh-enkidu-humbaba-cedar-forest-newest-discovered-tablet-v-epic/ only getting $800 is like when I stumble into every rpg town, overburdened with magic ancestral swords i've looked from crypts, and the blacksmith only offers me 1 gold for each of them

#UNIX history time:
> September 1981, students joined #Usenet en masse [...] In December, Rob Pike created the newsgroup net.suicide as prank, "a forum for bad jokes". Some users thought it was a legitimate forum. At first, most posters were "real people", but soon "characters" began posting. Pike created a "vicious" character named rabbit!bimmler. At its peak, net.suicide had ten frequent posters; nine were "known to be characters." But ultimately, Pike deleted the newsgroup because it was too much work to maintain; Bimmler messages were created "by hand". The "obvious alternative" was Markov bot running on a Bell Labs computer.
Three decades later it's going to be named "LARPing" on #4chan. And it's foreshadowed by no one else but Rob Pike, one of the original UNIX developers... Although, I bet nobody could have imagined the trolling will be 1000x worse.
the part where yosemite sam gives a 16 minute presentation on antitrust was deeply weird, but educational!
